USFDA has issued a new "White Paper" titled "Advancing Regulatory Science at FDA". As used by FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg, the term "Regulatory Science" means the use of evidence-based science to drive public-policy decision making. For the Food Industry, two of the eight goals in the Regulatory Science Program are particularly important. The first is "modernizing toxicology to enhance product safety". The second is, of course, the implementation of the "Prevention-Focused Food Safety System" under the Food Safety Modernization Act".
